I went to an early lunch so I could get down to the Eudora Welty Library to vote. The line was moving at a fairly good pace, but it still took about an hour. What felt great about that was that there were so many people out to vote in the first place.
I took my knitting with me, so that it wasn’t completely wasted time. It caused quite a bit of comment. Some people were just curious, some were wishing they’d brought something along to do as well, a book, puzzle, something.
I’ve talked to so many people who were Obama supporters. I am really quite excited about it. Mississippi hasn’t voted for a Democratic president since Carter in 1980, so this really would be a change!

After work I stopped at the Exxon and cleaned the truck out while I waited for the Rape Crisis volunteer to hand off the pager bag.
I ran the truck through the car wash, bought a 6-pack of beer for later, and headed to Cups for awhile. I was listening to Pandora.com on my iPhone and knitting on another scarf. But it was a little to chilly for short sleeves, and I headed out after about a half hour.
I’ve been home knitting and watching The General’s Daughter, put some clothes in the dryer, and answering some e-mails off and on.
I bought “Not Just More Socks” by Sandi Rosner and “Cool Socks Warm Feet” by Lucy Neathby this week. Ever since making the Sock-It-To-Me scarf I’ve been in love with knitting with sock weight or fingering yarn.
I read a comment from someone today who said, “Don’t be jealous of my exciting life.” LOL How true!
I’m on call this weekend, so I’m hoping that everyone is kind to each other for the next few days. kthxbye.
