Update on job hunt 2009

The phone interview turned into a real interview on Thursday, which I think went well. I had to do some “practicals”, for lack of a better word, by making some changes in Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

Here’s where years of working on a Mac almost exclusively get me. I know those programs like the back of my hand. What I am a little rusty at is using a Win keyboard! I need to spend more time on my laptop.

Add to that is the fact that having someone watch you over your shoulder is nerve-wracking, to say the least.

But they e-mailed me Friday with a request for something that will show “graphics experience.” It’s not a difficult project at all, so I’m happy to have something else to show them.

So all in all, I’m happy with the progress that’s taking. At least I know I’m still in the running!

The job hunt continues…

But at least there is some forward motion finally, after a week or two of feeling like I was adrift in a leaky boat.

I have 2 interviews today. One is a phone interview. This one has already seen my resume, as well as examples of my work. It’s at 11:30, so that’s no problem.

The other is at their office at 2 pm. They’ve seen my resume, but that’s all.

I’m off to go get a haircut. I’ve been putting it off to save money until it seemed like there was a good reason to do it.
